Endovenous Laser Ablation is a surgical medical procedure that uses laser beams to treat varicose veins. This effective treatment uses a laser device to send thin beams of radiation in the form of light to close and shrink the affected vein. This creates scar tissue within the vessel that seals the vein, enabling blood to flow to healthier veins.     

Our doctors will start the EVLA Endovenous Laser Ablation treatment by numbing the area where they will insert the catheter. We will then use a Doppler ultrasound device to check the vein and image it before the treatment. The doctor will make a small incision to insert and guide the catheter into the affected vein. Lastly, we will put a laser fiber and pull it out gradually while it heats the vein and closes it to shrink eventually.
